What’s going on families?!
-All evaluation times, days, and grades are posted on PalouseCougars.com Please make sure to confirm for any updates.
-All Parents Meeting will be 8:15pm- Thursday, October 23rd at Kamiak Elementary in the cafeteria. ALL OTHER DETAILS will be covered in that meeting.
-Evaluations: We are staying true to the competition of the game, so we are not promising spots on teams to players from last year. Our coaches support each kid trying out to earn their spot.
-The hardest part of what we do is not being able to keep every kid- We love them and the way they compete! Middle school kids that we are not able to keep in the program will be encouraged to play in their local school programs. Elementary players are encouraged to compete in Parks & Rec.
-There will probably be an additional team at the 5th grade boys level. We will communicate more details after this week of evaluations.
-Commitment: Each team will have on the average 2 practices weekly and 5 tournaments minimum, as well as events like the MLK invitational and FT A Thon. The coaches will own this communication for each team through the GameChanger App once teams are finalized.
-Cost: The player fees are $550 per player. For families with two players an additional $450($1000 total), three players and additional $350($1350 total), and four players an additional $250($1600 total). This covers gym rentals for the season, 5 tournament fees, a new practice jersey and insurance. The player fee due date is November 1st via PalouseCougars.com
(Please do not pay any fees until teams are finalized)
-There will also be a fundraising goal of $150 per family that we are assigning to the players. They will compete at the Free Throw A Thon in January… specific date and other details TBA based on our tournament schedule.
-For players needing a jersey the cost is $75. Coach Bray will go over this process and other gear options for families at the Parents Meeting.
-Notable dates for all: Zion Memorial Classic Tournament- November 7-9th, MLK Invitational- January 19th, Girls State Tournament- March 13-15th, Boys State Tournament- March 20-22nd, End of the Year Banquet- March 24th.
