November 17th, 2024 – 5:30pm @ Lincoln Middle School

  1. The Palouse Cougars Basketball “Free-Throw-A-Thon” is a combined effort of the entire boys and girls programs. The fundraiser is designed for two reasons: to supplement player fees in order to meet the annual budget and to help keep 501(C)(3) compliance for the YARD (Youth Athletic Recreational Development). The YARD is the Non-profit parent organization of the Palouse Cougars. All funds raised will go to Palouse Cougar basketball efforts.
  1. This is the ONE event in which all boys and girls players participate together from all grade levels. Each player will shoot free throws for exactly 10 minutes.  You will be using a minimum of four basketballs and at least three rebounders.  Middle School players usually make 70-130 free throws. Younger grades(2-4th) will shoot from 12ft distance (3ft closer).
  1. The contributor can choose the amount to donate per shot, flat donation (cash, check, online), or pledge. Please note the name of the player being supported for online donations in the ‘additional information’ section, which can be made using https://palousecougars.com/basketball/donate/
  1. Kids will represent the Palouse Cougars Program so encourage them to be courteous to everyone they speak with. Explain to the potential contributor that we are raising money to help fund expenses for this year’s basketball teams. Funds raised will help cover gym rentals, additional tournament fees, and supplies that are not covered by the ‘player fees’ paid by families.
  1. Using the attached form, please gather the following information from the Free Throw- contributor:  name, email, phone number and pledge or donation amount. For families with multiple players please indicate which specific player is being sponsored.
  1. How to donate: People can make a check payable to Youth Athletic Recreational Development or online at https://palousecougars.com/basketball/donate/
  1. The Free Throw-a-thon will be held on Sunday, November 17th from 5:30-8:30pm at the Lincoln Middle School for all players.  Players must present your completed pledge form the afternoon of the event.  Bring any donations received that day.  You will have one week from the event to collect the balance of your pledge or donation money.  All money should be turned into your team coach/representative (in an envelope with your name and amount collected), who will forward to Samm Child (Support Staff).
  1. Our goal is for each player or family(multiple players in program) to raise a minimum of $200 in combined pledges and donations.

     9. Lastly… COMPETE! There will be prizes for the most makes at each grade level, as well as the most donations raised for each grade level. Top prize for the most made shots for the entire program is an Xbox S Series. Top prize for the most donations raised in the entire program is an Xbox X Series.
